Cupping Therapy

Clinical cupping therapy session at Alnoor Clinic

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is a time-tested treatment that uses gentle suction cups on the skin to boost circulation, ease muscle tension, and support recovery. At Alnoor Clinic, we practise clinical (Hijama-style) cupping as part of modern physiotherapy care. Treatment is provided by Dr Nimra Kiran, Physiotherapist and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), GCUF, certified in Dry Needling & Cupping workshops (2022 and 2024).

How It Works

  1. Assessment: Your physiotherapist reviews your symptoms and identifies the muscles or areas that need treatment.
  2. Cup placement: Sterile cups are placed on the skin and gentle suction is created, lifting the tissue beneath.
  3. Treatment time: The cups remain in place for several minutes while circulation improves and the muscles relax.
  4. Aftercare: You receive guidance on hydration and gentle movement to support your recovery.

Benefits

What to Expect

FAQs

Will cupping leave marks?

Temporary circular marks are common and usually fade within a few days to a week. They are a normal response to the suction, not bruises from injury.

Does cupping hurt?

Most people feel a pulling or tight sensation rather than pain. Your physiotherapist adjusts the suction to keep you comfortable throughout the session.

Who can benefit from cupping?

Cupping can help people with muscle tightness, back and neck tension, and slow recovery from physical strain. Your physiotherapist will confirm it suits your condition during your assessment.
